A South Beach retreat ready-made for aesthetes.

The W South Beach channels Miami’s modern art scene. The hotel’s blue-chip collection includes artworks by Andy Warhol, Julian Schnabel, and Tom Sachs, among others. Works hung on textured stone walls—a mix of marble, slate, and decorative metal—extend up to the vaulted ceiling. Sleek architecture complements contemporary, eclectic interiors by designer Anna Busta. Busta also applied her expertise to the property’s nearby outdoor hangout, Grove, in partnership with landscape designer Paula Hayes. The space is a cocktail lounge-meets-secret garden, inspired by France’s Provence region. Along the Grove’s winding paths, swamp lilies and flowering grasses hang from 19th century lanterns, to light whimsical sheets of poetry waiting to be discovered. Upstairs, in the resort’s 312 rooms, the art program shifts to award-winning photography by Danny Clinch, whose images of rock ‘n’ roll celebrities, from Dave Grohl to Iggy Pop, hang above plush couches, geometric rugs, and mirrored cabinets. Outside these mod rooms, private balconies give way to sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean, framed by native palm fronds.
