A fashion-forward take on boutique hospitality.
Ferragamo needs no introduction. The Italian luxury fashion brand has occupied headquarters in Florence’s iconic Palazzo Spini Ferroni for more than 70 years. During this time, this eponymous brand has expanded to include the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum and a luxury hotel brand known as the Lungarno Collection. The collection comprises five hotels in Florence alone, including the Portrait Firenze. Located on the banks of the Arno River, the Portrait is a romantic Italian gem nestled among Florentine rooftops. Tastefully appointed interiors reflect Ferragamo’s classic style. Architect Michele Bönan selected furnishings are reminiscent of the 1950s, but are set in modernist tones of monochrome black, gray, and gold. Art-filled walls and picture stands display images drawn from the Locchi, Giorgini, and Alinari photography archives, all of 50s-era celebrities vacationing in the city. These unguarded images of Hollywood icons savoring their Florentine adventures are a rare find—just one of the many pleasures to be enjoyed on the property.
