Here, revelers head straight to the 10th-floor Radio Rooftop Bar to drink cocktails on sleek white couches while taking in views of London Bridge and Trafalgar Square. Designed by renowned firm Foster + Partners, the ME stands next to the revamped building that was once home to the BBC—and the site of its first radio broadcast in 1922—on the triangular site where the Strand meets Aldwych Street. Inside, a pyramid-shaped atrium adds visual intrigue, with black marble hallways leading to the 157 contrasting white guestrooms. Leather walls, illuminated onyx shelving, and floor-to-ceiling windows all add posh touches, but it gets even better in the suites. Stay in the duplex ME for a sprawling Bali shower and soaring glass dome that reimagines the Edwardian-era vaulted roof.
