Each of the 34 suites has its own private pool and spa area, and though it might be hard to leave that peaceful gazebo perch, relaxation is found inside as well.
While Eden Roc at Cap Cana is certainly influenced by the striking Caribbean Sea surrounding it, Milan designers Carlo Belgir and Marina Nova also looked to the French and Italian Riviera for inspiration. Each of the 34 suites has its own private pool and spa area, and though it might be hard to leave that peaceful gazebo perch, relaxation is found inside as well, with the rooms’ mix of high ceilings and wood beams. Bathrooms are especially attractive, what with their marble sink vanities and Jacuzzis melding with coral stone bathtubs and cedar wood. Napping comes easy on beds outfitted in Rivolta Carmignani and Hanse linens, but the best sleep yet might be found in the chessboard-inspired black-and-white Three Bedroom Royale Villa, with its private pool, or the bi-level Four Bedroom Imperiale Villa, with garden, pool and lagoon. Dinner parties were meant for the massive dining room table here, at which guests are invited to pull back chairs strewn with gilded shells that are reminiscent of lace corsets.
