This quaint townhouse hotel was the debut project of Tim and Kit Kemp, and their stunning signature touches shine through. Of course, the location can’t hurt: Dorset Square is an easy distance from the Baker Street Tube station in upscale, residential Marylebone.
For a dose of bold-fashioned rather than old-fashioned, Dorset Square is a top-notch pick. This quaint townhouse hotel was the debut project of Tim and Kit Kemp, and their stunning signature touches shine through. Of course, the location can’t hurt: Dorset Square is an easy distance from the Baker Street Tube station in upscale, residential Marylebone. The restaurant, Potting Shed, is tucked in the hotel’s surprisingly cheery basement. Guests can dine in for any meal, or just afternoon tea and drinks, and can enjoy live music on Tuesday nights. The cozy drawing room, styled with stone-and-wood tables and plush chairs, is the perfect place to relax in front of the fire with a drink from the honesty bar. Kemp's guest rooms are the pièce de résistance. Colorful furnishings run the gamut from warm, glowing orange to deep indigo, complemented by playful patterns that break the white-on-white mold. Other pieces like tree-trunk tables and myriad flower bouquets give the spaces a personal touch. Bathrooms include a rain shower and first-rate toiletries.
