Designed by local firm Forme UK, neutral-hued guest rooms put materials like leather and bronze in the spotlight.
In the shadow of London’s Hyde Park, Metropolitan by COMO (or the Met as it’s affectionately known) first brought a jolt of excitement to the city’s hotel landscape in 1997. Since then, local firm Forme UK, which designed the property, has been tasked with the ensuing spruce-ups. Most recently this led to a complete renovation of the 144 guestrooms and all public spaces as well as the addition of several new eye-popping suites. The lobby, in a nod to the flora and fauna of its pastoral neighbor, now flaunts hues of green and berry. The rustic feel is further accentuated by the presence of walnut, stone, and a fireplace. Neutral-hued guest rooms put materials like leather and bronze in the spotlight, but the suites are especially nice. In the COMO, a Kappa Lambda rug pops against oak, while the penthouse has views of the park best relished from cord-upholstered armchairs.
